On Saturday I tried my hand at learning something new- Screen Printing! Not the kind using big commercial machines, this class was led by Shayla Johnson of Scarlet Crane (https://scarletcrane.com/about/). Shayla produces gorgeous textiles which are sold locally and online.
We met at POST, “an open concept retail store and workshop space on Detroit’s East side.” The building is an old Post Office on Kercheval and there’s a roster of workshops offered for exploring many crafts.
I came home with 2 new tea towels which was really nice, ink stained hands and the reminder of how important it is to be open to new experiences.
